Chadron State College announced on April 3 that the International Food Tasting Party will take place on April 18, featuring a variety of performances and cuisine from around the world.
The event aims to bring together students and community members to celebrate diversity through food, music, and performance. Organizers say it offers an opportunity for attendees to experience global traditions and appreciate the diversity present on campus.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the CSC Student Center from April 6 to 10 during two daily time slots: from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Those unable to visit during these times can contact club sponsor Jen Schaer by email or phone for ticket arrangements. Chadron State College students are required to reserve their free tickets in advance or pick them up at the event.
Scheduled performances include Chinese opera, clogging, a choir presentation by CSC students, traditional Ethiopian and Tongan dances, as well as a Jazz Band performance followed by Hawaiian dancers inside the venue. “The event will conclude outside the Student Center with Samoan fire knife dancers, providing a dynamic and memorable finale,” according to International Club President Kimo Tuivati.
Tuivati also said, “This event brings together students and community members to celebrate diversity through food, music, and performance. It’s a celebration of culture, community, and connection. It gives people the opportunity to experience traditions from around the world and appreciate the diversity that makes our campus so special.”
Ticket prices are set at $20 for adults; $15 for senior citizens ages fifty-five or older; $15 for children ages five through eighteen; while children four years old or younger may attend free of charge.
