U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts of Nebraska has announced his support for the confirmation of Scott Turner as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Ricketts expressed confidence in Turner’s capabilities following his vote.

Ricketts highlighted Turner’s previous role leading the White House initiative on Opportunity Zones. “Scott Turner led the White House initiative on Opportunity Zones which expanded economic opportunity for people across the country,” said Ricketts. He added that Turner is well-versed in implementing targeted reforms to improve housing affordability and availability for Americans.

Furthermore, Ricketts emphasized Turner’s commitment to reducing bureaucratic obstacles and addressing homelessness challenges in order to revive what he referred to as “the American dream.”
