Senator Pete Ricketts, representing Nebraska in the U.S. Senate, shared a series of posts on July 27 and 28, 2025, highlighting recent legislative actions and their expected impact on Nebraskans.

In a post from July 27, Ricketts emphasized the benefits of the OBBB bill for his constituents: “The OBBB delivers for Nebraskans. The bill encourages business to invest in innovation, equipment, and childcare—all things that will create more and better jobs.

Most of all, this is a win for families in Nebraska—creating a brighter future for our country. Promises made,” he wrote.

Later that same day, Ricketts commented on federal spending related to international aid programs: “In the past, the federal government spent $33 million of YOUR tax dollars on tampons for transgender individuals in Bangladesh.

This rescissions package passed by the Senate ends funding for this program. That is common-sense.”

On July 28, Ricketts focused again on tax policy under the OBBB legislation: “The highest percentage of tax cuts in the OBBB goes to people making less than $50,000 a year. Police officers, nurses, factory workers, and servers who make money on tips or overtime will be the biggest benefactors.

Just last week, I was flying from Nebraska when a TSA officer”.

Senator Pete Ricketts has previously served as Governor of Nebraska before joining the U.S. Senate. The OBBB referenced in his posts appears to be new legislation aimed at encouraging economic growth through incentives for business investment and support for working families. The senator’s remarks about ending certain international aid programs come amid broader debates over federal spending priorities in Congress.
