U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts has introduced a resolution to honor the life and legacy of Howard Hawks, a notable community leader from Nebraska. The announcement was made during a conference call with media representatives from Nebraska.
Ricketts praised Hawks for his contributions, stating, “Nebraskans benefitted greatly from Howard Hawks’ leadership and generosity.” He described Hawks as “a visionary leader in the business and philanthropic community,” highlighting his roles on the Board of Creighton University and as a University of Nebraska Regent. Ricketts emphasized that Hawks’ support for higher education had significantly impacted Nebraska students by opening new opportunities.
Ricketts also acknowledged the personal connection he shared with Howard and Rhonda Hawks during his tenure as Governor of Nebraska, referring to them as “great partners and friends.”
