Garden County Sheriff’s Office News Update

Newsrelease

On March 29th, 2022, At approximately 1357 hours the Garden County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for an individual having a mental health crisis. During the investigation, there were concerns for Law enforcement safety. Due to the inherent risk to law enforcement, the Garden County Sheriff's office contacted Nebraska State Patrol along with Deuel County Sheriff's Office to assist with the individual having a mental health crisis. Regional West EMS was able to respond as well and had 2 ambulances on standby in the event anyone was injured. Nebraska State Patrol was able to send a negotiator who was able to talk the individual out of the residence without any further incidents. At approximately 1712 hours the individual was taken into Garden County Sheriffs' custody and transported to the Garden County Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

The Garden County Sheriff's Office would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the Nebraska State Patrol, Deuel County Sheriff's Office, and Regional West Garden County EMS for their assistance.
