Free standing glass ceramic vases are not allowed on the grave sites. All items including floral arrangements must be on the foundation, NOT IN THE GRASS.
All live & artificial floral arrangements placed on graves for Memorial Day should be removed before 7:30 A.M. June 13, 2022
(This does not apply to floral arrangements that are placed on headstone foundations)
The following is the holiday policy for recognized clubs and organizations. Greenwood Cemetery allows graves to be marked with American flags or organizational flags for the following national holidays: Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
Flags marking individual graves may be placed on the grass of graves 3 days before the holiday and withdrawn the day following the holiday. Brass or metal plaques on metal rods, or flags inserted on the monument, or its base, may be left indefinitely, or until cemetery staff deems their condition warrants removal. Flags and holders together may not exceed 3 feet in height and 12 inches in width.
Instead of marking individual graves, civic groups may choose to commemorate those who served in the military, and/or, were organization members, by installing an all-inclusive “block banner”. Block banners will be defined as flags or organizational banners over 3 feet tall. The maximum size of a block banner shall not exceed 6 feet in height and 2 feet in width. Banners shall be placed within 4 feet of the corner wooden posts that serve to identify the block letter or number. The only exception will be along the main entry road where they shall be placed back from the road at least 15 feet. Only one banner shall be allowed per block. Block banners may be placed 3 days before the holiday and must be withdrawn the day after the holiday.
