Weaning strategies during drought and alternative feeds when hay is short are the topics covered at the free Northern Panhandle Affiliate of Nebraska Cattlemen Meeting on Tuesday, September 20th at 6 PM at the Country Kitchen in Chadron.
The featured speaker is Jeremy Martin, Ph. D. who is a Nutrition Consultant for Great Plains Livestock Consulting Inc. based in Wellfleet, NE. Jeremy earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in ruminant nutrition and reproductive management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jeremy also owns and operates Broken Bar M Ranch where he and his family raise registered Angus and SimAngus composite cattle and market their bulls in a joint venture known as Stockmen's Source. In addition, Jeremy is a partner of 4+ Feeders feedlot near Lexington, NE.
