Nebraska Cattlemen Program on Weaning Strategies and Alternative Feeds, Tuesday Sept. 20th

Weaning strategies during drought and alternative feeds when hay is short are the topics covered at the free Northern Panhandle Affiliate of Nebraska Cattlemen Meeting on Tuesday, September 20th at 6 PM at the Country Kitchen in Chadron.

The featured speaker is Jeremy Martin, Ph. D. who is a Nutrition Consultant for Great Plains Livestock Consulting Inc. based in Wellfleet, NE. Jeremy earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in ruminant nutrition and reproductive management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jeremy also owns and operates Broken Bar M Ranch where he and his family raise registered Angus and SimAngus composite cattle and market their bulls in a joint venture known as Stockmen's Source. In addition, Jeremy is a partner of 4+ Feeders feedlot near Lexington, NE.

Registration is required by contacting the Dawes County Extension Office 308-432-3373. The program is open to the public at no cost and a meal will be provided sponsored by the Northern Panhandle Affiliate of Nebraska Cattlemen.
