U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) has issued a reminder to students regarding the approaching deadline for United States Military Service Academy nominations on October 15. Nominations from a Congressional representative are necessary for admission to the United States Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Military Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy.

“Our nation’s Service Academies push students to achieve excellence, embrace the values of leadership and service, and contribute to the defense of our nation,” Ricketts stated. “I’m proud to honor Nebraska’s tradition of military service by nominating talented Nebraskans to attend. I encourage all eligible candidates to apply to our nation’s prestigious Service Academies before the deadline of October 15.”

Candidates interested in receiving a Service Academy Nomination should ensure they submit a complete application by Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Upon review of completed application materials, applicants may be invited for an in-person interview this fall. Final nomination decisions will be communicated no later than January 31, 2025.
