U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) expressed his opposition to the recent government spending bill. Following his vote against the bill, Ricketts issued a statement criticizing the current process.

"This Continuing Resolution continues a broken process. It extends the Biden-Harris administration’s reckless spending," said Ricketts. He also directed criticism at Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, stating, "Majority Leader Chuck Schumer should be embarrassed that he refused to call for even a single vote on an appropriations bill before yet another shutdown faceoff."

Ricketts emphasized the need for change in how government spending is managed: "We must return to regular order and get this runaway spending under control."
