U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) has been named to the 2024 National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Congressional Dean’s List for his steadfast support of the Second Amendment.

“I will always champion the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners across Nebraska,” Senator Ricketts stated. “Standing up for our Second Amendment is central to the work I am doing in Washington. I’m fighting for law-abiding gun owners’ privacy, hunters’ access to public lands, and our domestic supply chain for ammunition. I appreciate this recognition from the National Shooting Sports Foundation.”

The NSSF Congressional Report Card provides a detailed analysis of elected representatives' positions on firearm and ammunition industry priorities during the 118th Congress. According to Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President for Government & Public Affairs and General Counsel, “The Report Card’s grades are based on key votes, co-sponsorships, committee activity, floor speeches, and other official actions by Senators and Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Members of our industry are grateful to have so many strong allies in the Halls of Congress."

Keane further praised Ricketts: "NSSF is proud to especially recognize Senator Ricketts as a member of the new NSSF Congressional Dean’s List for his exemplary leadership in supporting the firearm and ammunition industry and the nearly 400,000 hardworking Americans employed in the industry. Making the Dean’s List is special recognition that Senator Ricketts has gone above and beyond to protect and preserve the Second Amendment rights of his constituents and the industry that makes the exercise of those rights possible. We applaud Senator Ricketts for his exemplary level of support.”

Ricketts was among eight U.S. Senators and twenty-four U.S. Representatives who earned this distinction by maintaining a 100% voting and co-sponsorship record.
