Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts of Nebraska appeared on Fox Business to discuss the Biden administration's Middle East policy and its effects on Israel's security. As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Ricketts expressed concerns over President Biden's foreign policy, claiming it has empowered Iran and its allies, including Hezbollah and Hamas.
Ricketts highlighted the need for strong leadership in the region, suggesting that President-elect Trump would restore respect and security. He stated, "Joe Biden was a weak president. His appeasement-first policy – allowing Iran to have hundreds of million dollars in oil money so they could fund their proxies like Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis – is why we have all this trouble in the Middle East right now."
He further criticized Biden by saying, "When you have a strong president like Donald Trump, people are afraid. Dictators, like we have in Iran, are afraid." Ricketts believes that with Trump's upcoming presidency, there will be a shift in global respect towards the United States. He concluded with confidence that "these dictators and these terrorists know there’s gonna be a new sheriff in town."
