U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) expressed his condolences following the death of Jay Dunlap, the former President and CEO of Union Bank and Trust (UBT). In a statement, Ricketts praised Dunlap's contributions to the banking industry and his dedication to community service.

“Jay Dunlap was a visionary businessman who loved the people he served. He grew Union Bank and Trust from a small community bank to the state’s third largest bank," Ricketts stated. He also noted that as UBT expanded, Dunlap maintained his commitment to treating people well.

Ricketts highlighted Dunlap's legacy of "service, leadership, and generosity." The senator concluded by extending sympathies from himself and his wife: “Susanne and I send our condolences to his wife Shirley and family.”

Dunlap is remembered for transforming UBT into one of Nebraska's leading banks while upholding strong ethical values in business practices.
