U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts of Nebraska, serving as a senior member of the Foreign Relations Committee, announced his support for Mike Huckabee as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Ricketts expressed his approval following the vote to confirm Huckabee, a nominee put forward by President Trump.
Ricketts remarked on Huckabee's qualities, stating, “We need an Ambassador to Israel who won’t waver in his support for our greatest partner in the Middle East. Mike Huckabee is that person."
The senator highlighted Huckabee's stance on critical issues pertaining to the region. "He knows that Hamas should have no future in Gaza. He will support Israel as it defends itself against Iran and its proxies," Ricketts commented.
Furthermore, Ricketts acknowledged Huckabee's potential to continue efforts initiated during the first Trump administration. "He will also continue the successful work of the first Trump administration in normalizing relations between Israel and its neighbors," Ricketts concluded.
