Senator Pete Ricketts has recently addressed several pressing issues through his social media platform. His comments span from natural disasters to political debates and law enforcement incidents, reflecting on both local and national concerns.

On July 6, 2025, Senator Ricketts expressed his condolences regarding the recent floods in Hunt, Texas, and Camp Mystic. He stated, "I am continuing to pray for all those lost and impacted by the floods in Hunt, TX and Camp Mystic. It is absolutely heartbreaking to hear of the loss of so many young campers, counselors, and camp organizers. I am holding their families in my thoughts and prayers."

The following day, July 7, 2025, he commented on a statement made by Bernie Sanders concerning the closure of Curtis Medical Center. Ricketts remarked that Sanders attributed the closure to legislative action under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. However, he noted that "Maybe he didn’t know the Curtis announcement came before the bill had even passed." He further cited reports indicating that locals preferred medical facilities in North Platte or McCook.

Later on July 7th, Senator Ricketts reported an incident involving border patrol agents in McAllen, Texas. He detailed that "Border patrol agents were shot at by a 27-year-old man in McAllen, TX this morning." The suspect was subsequently shot and killed during the altercation while a local police officer sustained a knee injury. Ricketts extended his wishes for a swift recovery to the injured officer and praised Customs and Border Protection agents as heroes committed to national security.
