Senator Pete Ricketts commented on recent discussions about cash payments to families and highlighted his engagement with youth employment programs in a series of posts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On August 4, 2025, Senator Ricketts referenced an article from The New York Times, stating, "Great article from @nytimes on the problems with cash payments to families. Kids in families who received monthly payments of $333 over 4 years showed no improvements in critical skill development, behavioral development, or overall cognitive functioning. It’s becoming clear that". He included a link to the post at this address.

The following day, August 5, 2025, Senator Ricketts shared details about his meeting with participants from Bank of America’s Student Leader summer youth employment program. In his words: "It was great to meet with a group of students from @BankofAmerica’s Student Leader summer youth employment program. Two of these students worked at the Stephen Center in Omaha, supporting those in need, earning real job experience, and the chance to see how nonprofits,".

The Bank of America Student Leaders program provides high school juniors and seniors with paid summer internships at local nonprofits and participation in a national leadership summit. The Stephen Center is an Omaha-based nonprofit organization focused on assisting individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction recovery through emergency shelter services and supportive programs.

Senator Pete Ricketts represents Nebraska in the U.S. Senate after previously serving as governor of the state.
