In a post made at 13:01 UTC, Ricketts congratulated three Nebraska students for their academic accomplishments. He wrote, "Congratulations to Elise Renee Cherek of Millard North High School, Mason R. Miller of Elkhorn North High School and Sarah Lange of Raymond Central Junior-Senior High School for being named 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars! This is an incredible achievement for these students," (October 16, 2025).

Later that day at 16:54 UTC, Ricketts commented on international security issues and legislative action. He stated, "Communist China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea all need to be deterred. That’s why I voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). By restoring American strength, this NDAA will help us deter our adversaries and keep Americans safe." (October 16, 2025).
