Senator Pete Ricketts, who represents Nebraska in the U.S. Senate, used his social media platform on November 4 and 5, 2025, to recognize local achievements and respond to a national tragedy.

On November 4, Ricketts praised the University of Nebraska’s volleyball team for their ongoing success. In a post he wrote: "Nebraska is the volleyball state. A big congratulations to @HuskerVB for their incredible 13 game sweep streak! I’m looking forward to watching their continued success. GO BIG RED!" The Husker volleyball team has been recognized as one of the top collegiate programs in the nation, often drawing record-breaking crowds at matches.

Later that day, Ricketts congratulated Audrey Eckert from Lincoln on her new title as Miss USA. He posted: "Congratulations to the newly crowned Miss USA, Audrey Eckert from Lincoln, Nebraska. She’s a lifelong Nebraskan, UNL grad, and an advocate for digital safety. You make Nebraska proud, Audrey. Good Luck in the Miss Universe competition!" Audrey Eckert's advocacy for digital safety reflects a growing emphasis among public figures on internet security issues.

On November 5, Ricketts addressed a recent tragedy with a message of sympathy regarding a plane crash in Louisville: "I am praying for the victims families in this horrific and tragic plane crash in Louisville."

Senator Pete Ricketts previously served as Governor of Nebraska before being elected to the U.S. Senate. His social media posts frequently highlight local achievements and respond to events affecting both his constituents and the broader nation.
