In his statement, Ricketts criticized the foreign policy approach of the Biden-Harris administration, stating it made America "weaker and less safe." He contrasted this with Rubio's stance on international threats, particularly from nations such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
Ricketts emphasized Rubio's suitability for the role by saying he is "clear-eyed about the threats" posed by these countries. He further noted that Rubio is an ideal candidate to assist in restoring American strength internationally under President Trump's leadership.
As part of his duties within the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, which oversees matters related to the State Department, Ricketts expressed eagerness to expedite Rubio's confirmation process.
