Senator Pete Ricketts has used his social media platform to address recent developments in the U.S. Senate, including the ongoing government shutdown and recognition of Nebraska schools.

On October 17, 2025, Senator Ricketts posted: "Despite the Schumer Shutdown, @SenateGOP under @LeaderJohnThune’s leadership continue to deliver on our promises. Just last week, the Senate confirmed 107 Trump administration nominees and a third circuit judge, overturned three Biden-era regulations, and passed the National https://t.co/2xepr9T9iU".

The following day, October 18, 2025, he highlighted educational achievements in his state: "Great to see seven of our outstanding Nebraska schools named as 2025 Blue Ribbon schools. Nebraska is what America is supposed to be—including our exceptional schools! https://t.co/soryqukkEH".

On October 19, 2025, Senator Ricketts criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer regarding the shutdown: "It’s shameful that Chuck Schumer and his Senate Minority won’t end their political gamesmanship. Don’t take my word for it. Recently, Schumer told journalists that, during the shutdown, “Every day gets better for us.”  Better for who?  Certainly not for Nebraskans who will miss".
