Senator Pete Ricketts, who represents Nebraska in the U.S. Senate, marked several significant issues in a series of posts on his social media account in November 2025.
On November 10, Ricketts commemorated the anniversary of a major branch of the U.S. military. "Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps! Since 1775, the Marines have made great sacrifices to protect our country. Honoring all of our great Nebraska Marines today."
Later that day, he addressed concerns about federal employees affected by a government shutdown. On November 10, he wrote: "My office received dozens of letters from air traffic controllers in Nebraska who have gone without pay for 41 days. I’m calling on my colleagues to pass the proposed bipartisan solution to open the government without delay." Air traffic controllers are considered essential personnel and must continue working during shutdowns even when their pay is delayed.
On November 11, Ricketts highlighted legislative efforts impacting his state: "This bipartisan package delivers for Nebraska.
It extends critical farm bill authorities and supports agricultural research at the University of Nebraska. It helps fight against the New World Screwworm. It also delivers funding to support critical missions at Offutt Air Force" The Farm Bill is a key piece of legislation renewed every five years that shapes agricultural policy and funding across the country.
Senator Ricketts' recent statements reflect ongoing issues facing Nebraskans—from honoring military service members to advocating for federal workers and supporting agriculture and research initiatives.
