U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts of Nebraska has voiced strong opposition to a recent action by the Biden-Harris administration concerning U.S. support for Israel. Ricketts, who serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, responded critically after the administration sent a letter to Israel suggesting that future arms support might be contingent.
In his statement, Ricketts expressed disapproval of what he perceives as threats from the administration to withhold military aid from Israel. He stated, "I’m disgusted by the Biden-Harris administration’s continued threats to withhold arms from an American ally fighting for its survival."
Ricketts further criticized the foreign policy approach of the current administration, saying it prioritizes appeasement and is weakening Israel's position while strengthening adversaries such as Iran and associated terrorist groups. He emphasized his belief in offering unequivocal support to Israel: "The U.S. should be offering unconditional support to Israel in their fight to end Hamas and Hezbollah’s brutality." He warned that failing to do so could hinder efforts toward achieving peace.
