Senator Pete Ricketts, representing Nebraska in the U.S. Senate, addressed recent legislative developments and international concerns in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between November 12 and 13, 2025.
On November 12, Ricketts highlighted the progress of a bipartisan legislative package aimed at providing relief to Americans and ensuring government workers receive pay. He stated, "This bipartisan package delivers for Nebraska. Let’s get this to the President’s desk quickly so Americans can get relief and government workers can get paid!"
The following day, Ricketts commented on ongoing discussions regarding Gaza's future governance. He emphasized caution in international efforts, writing on November 13: "As discussions on Gaza’s future continue, we must avoid repeating the mistakes that empowered the terror group to take hold in the first place. My colleagues and I strongly urge the administration to ensure that UNRWA play no role in any efforts to stabilize, govern, and rebuild".
Later that same day, Ricketts announced the reopening of the federal government after an extended shutdown lasting over six weeks. In his post dated November 13, he expressed gratitude toward federal employees and local citizens: "After 43 days, the federal government has reopened. Americans are finally getting relief. Thank you to all the on-duty federal workers in Nebraska who continued to do their jobs. And thanks to those Nebraskans who stepped up to help!"
Senator Ricketts has been active in addressing both domestic policy—such as government funding—and foreign affairs involving U.S. engagement with international organizations like UNRWA during periods of conflict.
